hi guys – love the recent show and enjoy it being abit longer too! i have 2 pieces of feedback:
    1. Zune Pass… i don’t get it… how is it different to Last.fm? or Spotify? i use Last.fm on my 360, on my Wp7 and my PC’s, i have setup a really great library of “loved” tracks, it plays those and similar suggesting new songs and artists all the time. i’ve discovered TONNES of new music this way. It also “scrobbles” all the music i play through WMP (not from Zune by the way), or even from Spotify AND it allows me to post to Facebook and/or twitter so my friends can see what i’ve recently “loved”. I can’t see how anything can better this + Last.fm is free! maybe you can explain why Zune would be better?
    2. could you bring back “App of the week” please?? it may not have been your most popular feature, maybe that’s because the rest of the show is so good ;) but i think it was a useful notification (i am still using some of the apps you mentioned months ago!)

Cheers lads and keep up the good work! Ricki (SO excited about nokia world in London!)

    Ricki-
Regarding the Zune Pass… I’ve used all the services except Spotify, I liked Last.FM and enjoyed it for a good while. I have an insatiable desire to find new artists and listen to their back catalog when and how I want to. What makes Zune different is that you have a LOT more control over what you listen to.

For example, someone suggested I listen to Thrice. On Last.FM you can play Thrice Radio. You’ll get some Thrice and a bunch of other artists like Thrice (similar to SmartDJ on Zune). That’s cool, I like it, but I want to hear Thrice’s full catalog… pick specific songs to listen at my leisure, instead of searching through my ‘loved’ tracks. Add to that a much slicker UI and integrated information and you’ve got the reason I’ve been a Zune Pass subscriber for over a year and change. Incredible service, bummed the Zune players are going away… but now it’s all on my Windows phone anyways.

Travis & Ryan, very great and informative (even entertaining) Podcast… I had lots of good info to create my first app from scratch last week (shameless plug following… “Good Works Gauge”). I’m hoping to get enough money to buy the Telerik controls you talk about a lot – they’re hot.

I hope this WP7 wave catches on!
    Thanks guys-
    John

Thanks John, so it’s abit like Spotify and Last.fm put together, i see that might be better in some cases. I also found out this week that the “lock Screen Artwork” is NOT the embedded artwork in the album folder where you are playing locally stored music; instead it is pulled down from the ZUNE service. it does seem abit odd to me, but i guess if i were streaming from ZUNE then it would work perfectly.

Just something else quickly about the disappearing keyboards, i’ve got a HTC 7 Pro which has a slide out hardware keyboard. Since my Mango update, i’ve had the disappearing keyboard like everyone else, but interestingly, i also get it when using the hardware keyboard! that is REALLY weird because it’s not even that obvious what has happened, the only way you can tell is that characters stop coming out because nothing is on the screen to disappear…
